Kidnapped Delta State Commissioner, Hope Eghagha, released

The Delta State Commissioner for Higher Education, Hope Eghagha, who was kidnapped by unknown gunmen on September 30, has been released after 16 days in captivity.

Writing on his facebook page Mr. Eghagha  said “Out of the dungeon of kidnappers after sixteen days, thank God for answered prayers. Thanks to all Facebook supporters! More later…”

It cannot be ascertained at the moment if a ransom was paid to effect his release.

Mr. Eghagha holds a PhD in English and was a senior lecturer at the University of Lagos before he was appointed commissioner.
