"You are a Failure" Ex Militants blast Jonathan
Two ex-militant leaders, in Nigeria's Niger Delta region, Dr. Ebikabowei Victor-Ben, popularly known as General Boyloaf and ‘Commander’ Ateke Tom on Wednesday described as disappointing the performance of President Goodluck Jonathan in developing Nigeria and the Niger Delta region.
Both men who were former warlords of the Movement for Emancipation of Niger Delta insisted that Jonathan had performed woefully in the areas of infrastructural development and fight against corruption.
“We believe that the government of President Goodluck Jonathan has not done its best in reaching the yearnings and aspirations of Nigerians who overwhelmingly voted for him.
“Even we his own people are seriously dissatisfied with the way things are going and may be left with no option than to withdraw our support for his government if things don’t change in the best interest of Nigerians”, they said in a statement on Wednesday.
The ex-militants in the statement, which was made available to newsmen in Yenagoa, wondered why Jonathan suddenly abandoned a blue print of his predecessor, the late President Umaru Yar’Adua, on the development of the Niger Delta region.
They recalled that as the Vice-President, Jonathan headed the team that developed the agenda to end agitation in the region but regretted that the President had shown no seriousness in implementing the roadmap.
