Multiple Explosions Rock Kano

The so called ceasefire recently initiated between the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Boko haram sect seems to have been shattered after renewed attacks in parts of Northern Nigeria, the latest taking place in Kano yesterday.

Reports say at least 3 explosions and sporadic gunshots rocked the Sabon-Gari area of Kano metropolis in what appears to be a terrorist attack that targeted a  relaxation spot  and recreational centre popular for its drinks, food, snooker and table tennis.

An eyewitness told an online news medium that he counted at least 8 dead bodies, while several persons were wounded.

Reports salso say that the explosions were heard along Enugu Road and New Road, near the International Hotel.

Spokesman of the joint military task force (JTF) Lieutenant Ikedichi Iweha confirmed the explosion , but said details would be made available to reporters “at an appropriate time.”
