President Jonathan sacks Minister of Youth Development, Inuwa Abdul-Kadir

President Goodluck Jonathan has relieved the Minister of Youth Development, Inuwa Abdul-kadir of his appointment from the Federal Executive Council.

According to a terse statement by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim, the minister’s sack takes effect from Monday August 26th, 2013.

The statement was however silent on the reasons for Inuwa’s sack, but sources at the Presidency say Inuwa’s sack may not be unconnected with petitions filed against him, alleging dubious roles he played during the recent election of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN).

The source said the Presidency was not happy with the fall-out of the National Youth Council elections, which also generated heated debate among the contending parties at that time.

He has also been directed to hand over to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth Development.
Anyim statement reads, “His Excellency, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR President and Commander –in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria has relieved Inuwa Abdul-kadir, Esq of his appointment as Honourable Minister of Youth Development with effect from the 26th of August, 2013.

“Mr President expresses appreciation to the Former Minister for the time he put in the services of the nation and wishes him success in his future endeavours.”
