NERC Chairman Sam Amadi Buries Father

The sleepy town of Imierienwe in Ngor-Okpala local government Area, Imo state was on Saturday 11th January 2014 abuzz as dignitaries gathered to pay their last respect to late Pa Silas Ihekworobiri Amadi father of the Chairman of the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission NERC Dr. Sam Amadi who transited to glory on the 21st of December 2013 aged 84.

No stone was left unturned to ensure that Pa Silas was accorded a befitting burial as officiating priests led by Rt, Rev. Geoffrey Okorafor, Anglican Bishop of Egbu Diocese were present at the Anglican Church Imierienwe where a sermon on righteousness was preached in preparation for the interment of the deceased.

In his tribute, Dr. Sam Amadi extolled the virtues of his late father whom he said stood for truth, a humble man and who fought injustice right up to his death.

Close to tears Amadi enumerated his father’s commitment to the advancement of the church in his community, refusing to be knighted in the course of his steadfastness.

Some of the dignitaries at the funeral  service include former Senate President, Ken Nnamani, Permanent Secretary in the ministry of power, Ambassador Godknows Igali, Director General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) Ben Dikki, Managing Director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trader (NBET) Rumudaka Wonodi among others.
Late Silas Amadi is survived by wife Mrs. Juliana Amadi, and children among whom are chairman of the NERC, Dr Sam Amadi, Engr. Ogbonna Amadi, Ms Chikaodi Amadi and Aloysious Amadi.
