President Goodluck Jonathan will on Friday leave Abuja for Germany on what the Presidency said is a private visit.
This was contained in a three-paragraph statement made available to journalists on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati.
Abati said the President was expected back in the country early next week.
According to Vanguard Newspaper, the statement simply read, “President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will leave Abuja early Friday on a private visit to Germany.
“The President will be accompanied on the trip by some of his principal aides.
“He is expected back in Abuja early next week.”
There are however unconfirmed reports that the President might be visiting Germany for medical reasons.
