10 Countries with the Highest Military Strength in Africa

The Global Fire Power ranks countries of the world every year according to their military strength and fire power. In their ranking of African Countries With the Highest Military Strength and Fire Power, up to 40 different ranking tools and parameters like number of active front-line and reserve personnel, number of tanks and armoured fighting vehicle, aircrafts like fighters/ interceptors and helicopters, naval strength and coastal defence crafts, resources and defence budget, logistics and many other factors are used and in such an approach that a smaller country with good military intelligence competes favourably well with a highly populated country with lots of great foot soldiers while landlocked countries are not penalized for lack of an active navy. It is important to note that the military strength of a country is not only determined by the size of her ammunition.



New Poll Suggests Switzerland as the "World's Happiest' Country"

The land of clocks and chocolates is the world's happiest country, according to a new survey.

Switzerland topped the third annual World Happiness index produced by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), an initiative under the United Nations.

Federal High Court orders DStv to suspend increase in subscription fees


A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has restrained Multi Choice Nigeria Limited, operators of the Digital Satellite Television, popularly known as DStv, from implementing its new rates and increase in tariffs payable by its subscribers across board.

Lagos is for all Nigerians Ohaneze Youths Warn Oba of Lagos






The Ohaneze Youth Forum, a pan Igbo socio-political group with the sole aim of promoting Igbo interest and harmonious existence with other peoples of Nigeria has condemned the recent threats on Igbos by the Oba of Lagos, Rilwanu Akiolu.
Oba Akiolu while in a meeting with Igbo traditional rulers resident in Lagos, vowed that Igbos will be drowned in the lagoon if they vote for Jimi Agbaje of the People’s Democratic Party PDP in Saturday’s governorship election in the state.
A statement signed by one Ichie Akuazaoku said the group reorganizes the right of the Oba to reign in his domain and exercise authority over his Yoruba subjects but reminded him that Nigeria belongs to all Nigerians as provided by the 1999 Constitution.

AUDIO: Vote Agbaje and You will Drown in the Lagoon-Oba of Lagos Threatens Igbos in Lagos

Premium Times reports that the Oba of Lagos, Rilwanu Akiolu, Sunday night threatened Igbos resident in Lagos that they should cast their votes for the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Akinwunmi Ambode, or risk perishing inside the lagoon.

Mr. Akiolu reportedly made the comment during a courtesy visit to him by Eze Ndigbos (Igbo traditional rulers) in all the local governments in Lagos.
