The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu has congratulated the Muslim Umah on the successful conclusion of the Ramadan Fast.
This was contained in an Eid-El Fitri message to the Muslim Umah signed by his Special Assistant, Media, Uche Anichukwu.
Senator Ekweremadu urged the Muslim Umah to carry the lessons and virtues of love, tolerance, and perseverance imbibed during the holy month of Ramadan into every aspect of their daily lives in order to move the nation forward.
“We are blessed with religious and cultural orientations that teach us to place general good above personal interest, show love and kindness to all, live holy, and to be our brother’s keeper”, he said.
The Deputy President of the Senate also noted that Nigeria would be a better place if the political class closed ranks and made necessary sacrifices in the interest of the country.
“Eid-el Fitr reminds us that we who have been given the opportunity to lead in particular must lead by example in forbearance and patriotism to steer Nigeria on the part of speedy development”, he added.
While also wishing the Muslim Umah a hitch-free celebration, Senator Ekweremadu called on them and all Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for the peace, unity, and development of Nigeria.
