Police, Corruption and Human Right Abuse, Which Way Nigeria? By Sandra Ikeri

  1. Very engaging. You've raised a very serious question on our police. The Nigerian police force as it is called is covered in a lot unethical and even in some case criminal acts. Some say it's a global thing, especially in light of the recent happenings in the USA about race and the continuous Hollywood characterisation of police officers with criminal gangs. It all proves the saying that talks about getting dirty when one plays with pigs. Back to our case in Nigeria, I think we can link the current security challenge with poor policing, investigations and intelligence gathering ( which is like one of the same). It's expected that as the government makes effort to tackle insecurity, the precondition of reforming the police will be met.
