Members of the public in the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja have been warned to be extra vigilant as Boko Haram insurgents are reported to be planning massive attacks in the territory.
Security agencies have officially notified Muslim and Christian leaders of the planned attacks with a warning to beware of unknown persons disguising as aid workers.
The security alert further noted that the insurgents are targeting places of worship and markets, urging residents to report any suspicious movements to the police.
The religious leaders were further advised to inform their members of the development while urging residents to be extra vigilant as they go about their activities.
Security surveillance have subsequently been stepped up in the territory while the police have issued emergency phone contacts for reporting of any suspicious persons or activities.
