The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja on Friday nullified the Akwa Ibom State governorship election.
The five man panel of Justices, hinged their decision on what they described as substantial non-compliance with the provisions of the Electoral Act.
Accordingly, the Appeal Court ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to conduct fresh election within 90 days.
The Akwa Ibom State Election Tribunal had earlier cancelled elections in 18 Local Government Areas of the state.
But the Court of Appeal having considered all the issues involved in the case before it, nullified the entire election.
