Appeal court upholds Godswill Akpabio's Election

The Federal Court of Appeal, sitting in Abuja, has upheld the election of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Godwill Akpabio.
The Court said that the Minority Leader of the Senate was validly elected to represent Akwa Ibom North- West senatorial district of the oil rich state.

The panel of justices of the court, led by Justice Mashood Oredola, quashed the appeal by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the March 28 election, Inibehe Okori.
Confirming the news to the populace, Senator Godswill Akpabio, took to Twitter to reveal that the Court of Appeal has upheld his election, bringing a sigh of relief to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) supporters.
