A group of Youths under the auspices of the National Youth Council of Nigeria have marched on the headquarters of the Department of State Services DSS in Abuja demanding the immediate release of Ikenga Ugochinyere who is the the Special Adviser on Youth affairs to Senate President Bukola Saraki.
The protesters say Ugochinyere who is also the President of National Youth Council of Nigeria was invited for questioning at the DSS headquarters on Monday following a petition purportedly written by the Youth and sports minister, Solomon Dalung after which he was detained.
Addressing newsmen as the youth marched towards the DSS headquarters, brother of the detained youth leader, Obinna Ikeagwuonu said the DSS operatives have not allowed his family to bring him food and medication since the four days he had been in detention.
Social Secretary of the FCT chapter of the National Youth Council, Chinyere Manukwem said Ugochinyere's detention might be connected with his election which has not gone down well with some Nigerians.
As at the time of this report there has not been any official communication from the DSS on the detention of the youth leader.
