Ekweremadu calls on government to immortalise late Ibru

The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, has joined other well meaning Nigerians in mourning the passing on of late Olorogun Michael Ibru, describing his death as a big loss to the entire nation and Africa.

Reacting to the news of the death, Senator Ekweremadu said the late patriarch of the Ibru dynasty was an exemplary statesman who paid his due in nation-building called on government to immortalise him.
He said: “We have lost an icon. This is a sad event, not only for the Ibru family, which I hold dear, but also for the entire nation and Africa. The late business magnate was an epitome of determination, industry, philanthropy, and humility. He not only pioneered many businesses, he equally built countless lives and touched communities in many positive ways. He deserves to be immortalised by the nation.

“It is sad we lost him at this critical time in our nation’s economy when his wealth of experience, knowledge, international contacts, and goodwill are most needed, but we must submit to the will of God”.

Senator Ekweremadu prayed God to grant his soul a peaceful repose and the Ibru family, people of Delta State, and the nation the inner strength to bear the loss.
