Former governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu, has formally joined the All Progressives Congress, APC, a move some persons in the state say is meant to get a soft landing for his corruption charges.
Speaking with an online news medium, Per Second News over the phone Chief Emeka Obiora, a PDP chieftain said that “The APC is being subtly turning into a sanctuary by shady characters from all political parties who want to escape the long arm of the law."
"The deluge of defections into the ruling APC should be a matter of concern for discerning and well-meaning Nigerians who want a country founded on justice, equity and the rule of law."
Kalu was received by the Chief John Odigie-Oyegun-led National Working Committee of the party at the National Secretariat Wednesday.
The former governor of Abia State, has been accused of laundering about N3 billion by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
