Kwankwaso denies rumours that he is leaving the APC

Former Kano state governor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has denied media reports that he has left the All Progressives Congress.

Kwankwaso who is the senator representing Kano central senatorial district on the platform of the APC said the rumours were sponsored by his detractors.

Kwankwaso made the clarification through his former commissioner for state affairs, Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, who spoke to Thisday on Tuesday, March 14.

His words: “I have no intention of leaving APC. It is rumour by politicians whose ship is sinking. Politicians who have lost relevance and they want to be relevant by making reckless and baseless statements.”

He also said those irrelevant politicians think they can attract attention to themselves by making false statements.

He continued: “Kwankwaso remains a bona-fide member of the APC and as a senior stakeholder for that matter who is commanding respect within the rank and file of the APC and even beyond.”

“Kwankwaso has no time for these irritants. He will remain as one of the most respected APC chieftains in the country.”

Unconfirmed media reports on Tuesday, March 14 had suggested Kwankwaso dumped the APC for the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) alongside 10 lawmakers from Kano state.
